Gay Autumn: Montreal!

Not going on vacation abroad or to the far side of the world isn’t the worst thing that can happen (not compared to such cataclysmic events such as bangs making a comeback). There are plenty of things to do in Canada if you’re a gay couple who wants to spend some time together. And Montreal tops our list of gay destinations because it’s so European, friendly and elegant!

Beautiful scenery of Canada’s best city.

First, let us take a selfie… under this incredible, campy project which added even more charm to Montreal’s gay village! Projet Les Boules Roses has brought dozens of thousands of these pink plastic balls into Ste-Catherine, making the scenery perfect for weird yet charming pictures of you and your man.

No, that’s not sugar cotton!

If you two are fans of theatre and good plays, The Wiggle Room is the place to be. You yearn for burlesque, enjoy in vaudeville, and prefer the variety? The Wiggle Room on St. Laurent Boulevard will give you all that and leave you dazzled with its burlesque shows, improv and live music.

Wiggle your way through culture.

You’re not freaked out by wax figures, are you? Grévin Wax Museum has a rather big collection of gay icons and celebrities which you simply must check out. Bribe your boyfriend with a promise of intimacy in the hotel room and head to the fifth floor of the Eaton Center!

Yep, all made of wax!

If you and your guy are practical, down to earth types, why don’t you check out la vente trottoir, i.e. – street sale! It is located in the heart of gay village and offers a lot of interesting things. Of course, if you want clubs, cafés and bars, let us name a few for you: Royal Phoenix, Cabaret Mado, Sky, Le Stud, Code (former Apollon)…

And after a night of clubbing, while you’re still feeling a bit tipsy, why don’t you try public karaoke? It takes place one a month, it involves a lot of people showing their musical talent, and no one is going to judge you for singing off key – you’re allowed to have unrestricted fun on public karaoke, right? If all of this is not enough for you, join Montreal Pride and dance your way through the busy streets of this charming city!

And we salute your skimpy outfits!
