Many of your will react just like my boyfriend: a vacation in Brighton? English seaside – is that a real thing? Yes and yes – this peaceful, picturesque English city is considered to be the gay capital of Britain. If you want a real gay vacation, with plenty of clubs and restaurants, a great clubbing scene and lots of hunky English lads with whom you can hang out – Brighton is your ideal destination.
To put you (and my boyfriend) at ease, I can say, first hand, that there are a lot of gay venues in Brighton. Most of them are located in Kemptown (Brighton’s version of a gay village) and some of them are in the Lanes (a district full of cafés and shops); from the legendary Legends Hotel and Kemp Townhouse, Drake Hotel and One Broad Street, to gay owned Colson House, a gay couple has a lot of choices and options.
The best thing about Brighton is that you and your man can simply relax and enjoy – the city has a long tradition of mixed cultures, openness and acceptance. Gay clubs are as numerous as they are diverse (Revenge, Envy, Audio, Basement Club, Wild Fruit, Poison Ivy, Royal Oak…) and you can take a walk on long, cobblestoned streets and on the infamous Brighton Pier. If you want something extra, you can pay a visit to few gay saunas and find some new company for a chitchat!
While its seashore cannot compare with Greece or Spain, Brighton is one of the better seaside cities in UK – it has a sizeable beach with lots of charming pubs and clubs. So, a mixture of gay clubs, a huge gay scene, an open minded city and a beach – what more can you possibly wish for?
