We’ve already covered Bratislava once – Slovakian capital has a few things to offer to weary gay travelers (not to mention that you can easily get to Prague and Vienna) – but now it’s time to pack the bags, reach out on yec.com and get ready for one of the biggest queer festivals slash parties in the region!
Here’s what they’re promising on their Facebook page: “Enjoy this summer at Radio Kiki Queer Festival that brings you great DJs, open air boat party, BBQ, queer movie night, and discussions. Radio Kiki Queer Summer Festival is here for you to enjoy for the 4th time.
The program starts on Friday at Tepláreň Café with a free-entry discussion featuring LGBTI representatives from Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Košice, beginning at 7 pm. The topic is: “Is there a queer scene outside Bratislava?” Screening of a project “Identity: Videoportraits About Queerness” will follow at 9 pm. Every hour, visitors can watch a short movie about queer identity people.
On Saturday, Radio Kiki Festival will continue at Loďka (exTanker) with a great party. From 5 pm till 5 am our DJs will be playing on the first deck, after the midnight on the second deck, too. German DJ Spencer Reed, US DJ Mahogany, Dutch DJ Pieter Legél will take turns at the mixers. The home scene will be represented by Southboy, Vesnu and Mat Bee.
On Sunday, the program will continue at Loďka, this time in a calmer pace. There will be BBQ and the DJs will take turns behind the mixers again. At 5:30 pm there will be a discussion and living library directed by TransFúzia.“
