Once you sort out your travel arrangements thanks to YEC.com, it’s time to think about the beaches of Tenerife! This beautiful island, the biggest of the Canary Islands, has numerous and beautiful gay and gay friendly beaches; best of all, some of them are unassuming, un-crowded and not too popular with the tourists – which is ever better for you!
Playa la Tejita is a beautiful sandy beach (the picture above shows Montana Roja – the Red Mountain which overlooks the beach). With strong winds and big waves, it’s perfect for experienced swimmers. It has plenty of bars and the drinks are more than affordable – and it’s also nudist-friendly! You can see a lot of buff, tanned guys on Tejita, where nudism, tan and muscles are practically de riguer.
Playa de Los Callados is another great beach – but with pebbles. It’s got beautiful, clear waters and plenty of muscled guys working on their tan and posing. It’s also openly nudist, with few hetero people ever visiting.
The best known gay beach in Tenerife is Playa Martiánez – it’s been a cruise spot and a gay beach for a few decades. It’s covered with black volcanic sand and gets deep quickly, but it’s surrounded by bars and clubs where you and your friend can get a drink!
Playa del Pozo used to be the favorite among local and touring gays, but, unfortunately, it’s been closed due to natural disaster. You can still go to Playa Troya or one of the water parks and get a good view of the hot local guys sunbathing!
