It’s been a while since we had an emotional, hard drama about gay men – but 2017 Sundance Film Festival brought us a new delight called God’s Own Country! But please don’t mix it with Bollywood movie with the same name – this one takes place in Yorkshire!
This emotional drama has everything you need to spend a night crying curled up with your boyfriend from yec.com: young Yorkshire sheep farmer is drinking heavily and taking care of his ailing dad, struggling to keep the family farm alive. He’s also taking care of his elderly grandma, and is emotionally cut off from the rest of the world. But that all changes when a young migrant worker from Romania comes along to help him with the sheep!
God’s Own Country which won the World Cinema Directing Award and is being hailed as the British Brokeback. Be on the lookout, because this excellent movie will probably hit theaters or come out on DVD pretty soon!
